Thought I would share some photos of an exciting project that my team at Levy had a great time with, that being re-concepting the exterior of the Retail Store at Chicago’s United Center. The main objective was to create signage and fixtures that would allow for the store to essentially “flip” between being Blackhawks or Bulls-specific on any given night. A big challenge that I feel we hit square on the head! Also huge props to designer AJ Goehle as well for helping to see this one through!

Had an amazing time at the opening on the new Backfire BBQ in Kansas City last night and thought I would share a few pictures from both the event and the design of the  restaurant. In coordination with Schussler Creative and OCC, I had the unique opportunity to lead the branding campaign and could not be happier with how it all came together. Just shows what can come when you bring together so many talented and creative people…

It’s been a busy couple of months since I have added anything up here – so thought I would share some recent food photography that I worked through with an amazingly talented team at Levy consisting of Rebecca Strickland, Robin Rosenberg, Brooke Wilson, Nori Bonaventura and Myself. What fun we have had though immersing ourself in this exciting new world of food photography – and I am truly blessed to be surrounded by such passionate people who love what they do everyday…

Had the pleasure of taking in a game today at Chase Field and got to take a peek at the signage we had done for the D-Backs as part of a whole stadium re-concepting project. Take a look!

Recently completed a re-design of the general level concessions at Qwest Field in Seattle, which has been a project a few years in the making…Really a dream client in the sense that they put a lot of trust and faith in our team to execute these concepts, and it felt like a collaborative effort every step of the way.

But got an email today from the client with some feedback directly from the teams website, seahawks.com – a place where fans simply have the opportunity to give their 2 cents on anything going on with the team, the stadium, etc..pretty cool stuff – and really made all those long hours and all the revisions really worthwhile…

Hoping to head out there in a couple weeks to check out a game and get some good pics, but here is one taken by our Director of Operations out there as well as screen grabs showing the feedback.

Know a couple weeks back I posted an initial logo design for this Pizza Market concept we’ve been working on, so just thought I would share where we ended up with the final. Excited to see it come to life with the first location rolling out in Kansas City in November.

Just found out that a couple of the logos I’ve done have been selected for inclusion in LogoLounge 5, scheduled to be released next June by Rockport Publishers. The 3 selected were for Grand Piazza Chicago, an event space here in Chicago, my personal identity which was developed way back in college, and the logo I created for the Manitowoc Bandits baseball team.

By far one of the best projects I’ve worked on to-date at Levy has been for the food experience at the new Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America. Had the opportunity to storyboard, cast, and direct the photoshoot for these kids shots, and just had a blast doing it…In the gallery are some coaster column banners done by our group implementing some of the photos from the shoot. Just went up this week – so pretty excited about them!

So for the first time in a while, I feel like I really let myself get back to the process that allows me to produce my best work…So on Friday, I first spent a half hour sketching, popped my headphones on, turned off my email, and just spend the next 10 straight hours just cranking through the identity design for this Pizza Market restaurant project that were working on…Felt really good! Going to be locations rolling out nationwide, but the first one opens up in Kansas City this November. Still waiting to get thoughts from the client, but I’m pretty happy with it
