On Thursday night, Mandy and I had the opportunity to attend the mock-opening for Levy’s newest venture, that being a partnership with Village Roadshow to create the food experience for Gold Class Cinemas - a concept that originally started in Australia and is now rolling out in the states. The first location is in South Barrington here near Chicago, with other locations planned in LA, Seattle, New York, and others…

The concept is brilliant…a high-end movie theatre with plush, comfortable seating (they even bring you blankets!) Full food and beverage before and throughout the movie (they have call-buttons on your chair for the waiter to come down) and an expansive bar that looks like it belongs at the W hotel and has an immaculate wine and beer list…Truly VIP service from the second you walk in the door (oh, there’s Valet parking too…)

It’s a little bit of a drive out there (about a half hour) but certainly worthwhile for such a one-of-a-kind experience. Can’t wait to go back!

Last week headed back to Ohio for a couple of things – but the primary reason for the trip was my 10 year Orrville High School Class Reunion. Just saying that makes me start to feel pretty old! There wasn’t a huge turnout, primarily because our “picnic” was at 5:00 on Friday, which made it pretty tough for a lot of people to get there.

But it was just great to see some of those folks I don’t talk to or se on a regular basis, recount some of the classic old stories from growing up in the ‘ville, and getting to check out an Orrville football game, at which they honored our State Championship football team from 1998 – led by our Senior Class.

Was amazing to see everyone all grown up, a lot of them with kids and families…sorta weird because you have these perceptions of how people are based on knowing them 10 years ago, but everyone has changed so much that it was fun to meet the “adult versions” of a lot of my HS friends.

a little spot done up in our office that was featured on CNBC’s “Mike on America” – pretty cool…and even some of our team’s design work gets a brief highlight there when their talking about pitching work to the Indiana Pacers.
